Dibrugarh all set for LS polls, over 16.54 lakh voters expected to cast vote on April 19

Dibrugarh, April 18: The Dibrugarh district administration has put in place extensive measures to facilitate smooth elections in the six assembly constituencies of the Dibrugarh election district, as part of the Lok Sabha election of the 13th Lok Sabha Constituency.

Central control room, secure storage areas, and various cells, including transport and media, have been set up at the Dibrugarh Polytechnic in Lahoal, Dibrugarh, marking a first for this location. More than 16.54 lakh voters are expected to cast their votes across the constituency tomorrow.

According to recent data from the Dibrugarh district administration, there are 10,15,515 voters in the six assembly constituencies of the Dibrugarh election district. The Tinsukia District administration is managing the polling in the four assembly constituencies under the 13th Dibrugarh HPC.

The district boasts 1,211 polling stations, with 667 of them planning to use webcasting for the sake of transparency and security.

A total of 5,457 Presiding Officers, Micro Observers, and Polling officers will be outfitted with the necessary equipment. District Commissioner, Bikram Kairy, reported that the distribution of essential items to the polling team has been going well.

Superintendent of Police, Dibrugarh, Rakesh Reddy, assured that adequate security arrangements have been made. The District Commissioner urged all eligible voters to exercise their right to vote in the election.
