DIPHU, March 31: A total of 144 students of Diphu Polytechnic for the first time received scholarship cheques under Establishment Expenditure Fund for Students Scholarship/Stipend for the financial year 2022-23.
The cheques of Rs 8000 to ST (H) students and Rs 4,500 to general, OBC and other categories respectively were distributed by chairman, KAAC, Raju Tisso in presence of executive member (EM), KAAC, D Uphing Maslai; EM, KAAC for education, Richard Tokbi and EM, Bili Mohan Khaklary in a distribution function held at the auditorium of Diphu Polytechnic. The scholarship is given for the financial year 2022-23.
Distributing the cheques the Chairman, KAAC said it is the initiative of chief executive member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang to help the students of Diphu Polytechnic.
Such initiative by the CEM should be appreciated, the chairman said.
EM Tokbi also said the scholarship is through KAAC’s own funds to help technical students for their studies. It is said that CEM has introduced the scholarship and should thank him. The scholarship will surely help the students for their study purposes, the EM said.
Principal, Diphu Polytechnic, Utpal Bora said it is for the first time the scholarship is given to the students. All 144 students have received the scholarship.
From the 144 students, 65 students are ST (H) category and were given Rs 8000, while another 79 students from general, OBC and other categories were given Rs 4,500. The total budget for the scholarship is Rs 9, 30, 000, the principal informed.
Earlier, the chairman Tisso inaugurated a girl’s hostel named after Kajir Ronghangpi Memorial Girl’s Hostel and a boy’s hostel named after Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Boys Hostel. The hostel capacity for both boys and girls is 60 each.
