TEZPUR, March 1: Incubation and entrepreneurship centre, Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College and IIE organised a one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on Saturday.
The objective of this programme was to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship among students pursuing graduation. The daylong event started with the lighting of the lamp by Principal LOKD College, Sukdev Adhikari , president GB Jogendra Saikia and invited resource person from IIE Achintya Kumar Baruah . This was followed by felicitation of the resource person, principal and president of GB in traditional manner.
Principal, LOKD College Sukdev Adhikari formally inaugurated the programme and in his inaugural speech urged upon the students to explore the opportunities coming up in the present technology driven environment. He also stated that students utilise the technology for meaningful engagement.
President GB, Jogendra Saikia in his brief speech highlighted the necessity of developing entrepreneurial attitude by citing an example from a novel authored by him. Achintya Baruah in his very interesting deliberation focused on varied aspects of entrepreneurship. Starting with self analysis he highlighted the attributes of a successful entrepreneur. Speaking on first generation entrepreneurs he discussed Kakinada coastal villages case study and engaged the students in lively discussion on behavioral input, support system and entrepreneurial growth, with all the components students were also provided with the basic idea of preparing a business plan step by step.
In the post lunch session Satyajit Borah, chief manager SBI Dhekiajuli and Sudipta Ranjan Kalita, branch manager SBI Dhanua Nagar, Tezpur covered various aspects of financial literacy.
Starting with the basics of financial literacy they also spoke on managing finance as well as the precautions to be taken in digital transactions. Both the speakers highlighted the importance of investment in mutual funds. Besides, they also advised students on how to prepare for cracking the banking service recruitment examination. This was followed by a lively interaction with the participants. Apart from the students the programme was attended by faculty namely Manjulata Aadhikari, Devanand Mainali, Premada Kalita , Jnan Jyoti Patangia , Deepsikha Deka , Saurav Sen and others. At the conclusion of the technical session certificates were distributed by principal Sukdev Adhikari, Satyajit Borah and Sudipta Ranjan Kalita.
