Foundation Day of Lekhika Association celebrated

DEMOW, April 27: The Lekhika Association, Assam Demow Branch Biennial has celebrated its foundation day at Dehajan Kachumari in Demow with a day-long programme.

The programme began on Friday with the ceremonial lighting of the earthen lamp. Padma Lahon Chetia, president of Lekhika Association, Assam Demow Branch presided over the meeting. Lakhima Phukan, joint secretary of the association anchored the meeting and also elaborated on its aims. Nayan Bhagawati gave the welcome speech.

The association also felicitated Nayan Nilabh Bhagawati with a phulam gamosa and books for passing the HSLC examination with flying colours this year.

Diptimoi Buragohain Gogoi, executive member of the Lekhika Association, Assam as well as president of Sivasagar branch of the association was present as the chief guest on the occasion. She held a discussion on a short story during the programme.
