MARGHERITA, Jan 3: In celebration of Maa Sarada’s 171st birth anniversary, a free blanket distribution ceremony took place at Sri Sri Ramakrishna Seva Ashram in Margherita. The event commenced with the lighting of an earthen lamp and the garlanding of Maa Sarada’s portrait by retired professors Dr Rana Bijoy Deb and Bela Deb from Margherita College.
The felicitation program honoured retired professors Dr Rana Bijoy Deb and Bela Deb, Sri Sri Ramakrishna Seva Ashram Samiti Margherita president Bhanu Chakraborty, vice president Amulya Majumder, and Margherita Journalist Association treasurer Mithun Baruah. Each recipient received a traditional Assamese phoolam gamosa.

A total of 55 individuals residing in the Margherita area were presented with blankets during the ceremony. Bhanu Chakraborty highlighted the organisation’s commitment to serving humanity without any discrimination based on caste, religion, language, or creed.
The entire program was skillfully moderated by Partha Bhattacharjee, assistant secretary of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Seva Ashram Samiti, Margherita.
