GUWAHATI, Dec 29: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya stressed on the importance New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its impact on education at the 27th training session of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Uttar Assam Prant held at Hara Dutta Bira Dutta Bhavan in Rangia, on Sunday.
“True education is which liberates people from all forms of bondage. It should aim to eradicate poverty, inequality, and discrimination. To achieve this vision, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was introduced, and its seamless implementation is paving the way for a purposeful and future-ready education system,” an official quoted the Governor highlighting the transformative role of education on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor further said that India’s ancient legacy as a global leader in the realm of knowledge has been astounding.
“India has been a Vishwaguru for centuries, making extraordinary contributions across various fields. This is the sacred land where the Vedas and Upanishads originated—timeless examples of universal wisdom—when much of the world was still in its formative stages”, quoted the statement.
The Governor reiterated that India’s vast cultural heritage and knowledge systems form the bedrock of the country’s legacy of universal brotherhood and wisdom which have earned it the title of ‘Vishwaguru.’
The Governor said that as the country is the robust path of growth trajectory all the countrymen should work to integrate the rich cultural heritage, and values into the development journey.
Acknowledging the role of the youth, Governor Acharya highlighted, India’s immense youth population as its greatest asset.
“If we channel this potential effectively, Bharat will undoubtedly reclaim its glory as a global leader”, the Governor remarked.
The event was attended by President of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Uttar Assam Prant, Dr Neel Mohan Rai, and Secretary of the organisation, Deepak Kumar Sharma along with other dignitaries.
