GUWAHATI, May 24: Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School, Guwahati, hosted its annual function with immense zeal and enthusiasm at the prestigious Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium, Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

The event, a vibrant celebration of talent and tradition, commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the esteemed trustee members of the institution, followed by the melodious rendition of the state anthem, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings. The students of Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School showcased extraordinary talent in the performing arts, presenting a diverse array of performances including singing, dancing, and dance dramas. These performances highlighted the rich cultural heritage of India, featuring traditional art forms from various regions such as Bodo, Mising, and Assamese. The audience was enthralled by the students’ dedication and skill, which brought to life the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture. Teachers also graced the stage with their participation, presenting a poignant dance drama that underscored the importance of motherhood and child relationship.

The annual function aimed to emphasise the merits of good mental health, child education, and equal opportunities for all students. It was a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education, nurturing not only academic excellence but also the overall development of its students. A highlight of the event was the celebration of the brilliant academic achievements of the students who passed the matriculation examination with flying colors. This underscored the legacy of academic excellence that Guru Nanak Senior Secondary School is renowned for.

Working president, Sardar Davinder Singh Kohli, addressed the gathering, commending the students for their remarkable performances and praising the management team for their exceptional efforts in organising such a magnificent event. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the coordinator of the institution, S Chakraborty. He expressed gratitude to the management, parents, children, and acknowledged the entire team for the grand success of the program. Sardar Bhupinder Pal Singh, the secretary of the institution extended his thanks to the gathering, lauding the children extensively for their beautiful performances, which brought the event to a joyous and memorable close. He also thanked the parents and guardians for cooperating wholeheartedly for the successful presentation of the program.
