HAFLONG, Nov 30: The vibrant celebration of “Raas Utsav” illuminated Haflong as the Haflong Namghar Committee orchestrated a spectacular event that captivated the community. This annual cultural festival, also known as Raas Lila, unfolded with grandeur, echoing traditions and religious significance.

The festivities commenced with fervent prayers, resonating Namghosa Kirtan, and a captivating drama depicting the divine tales of Lord Krishna. The Raas Utsav holds a special place in the hearts of the people of Haflong, being an integral part of their cultural heritage. This annual extravaganza, celebrated on the full moon day in November, brings together communities to pay homage to Lord Krishna through the enactment of his Raas Leela.

The Haflong Namghar Committee played a pivotal role in organizing the festival, infusing the air with a sense of devotion and cultural richness. The presence of Dima Hasao district commissioner Simanta Kr Das and Diam Hasao SP Mayank Kumar, along with a diverse array of people from various communities, further heightened the joyous atmosphere, fostering unity and a shared celebration of cultural traditions.
