JORHAT: One person was arrested and 13 grams of suspected heroin was recovered from his possession on Tuesday.
A police source said that the person identified as Uttam Das, aged about 33 years belonged to Borigaon under Bhogdoi police outpost in the district.

The police source also said that the house of Uttam Das was searched following credible information that Das was involved in smuggling of psychotropic substances.
Police further added that 23 plastic containers of similar shape and size containing suspected heroin were found in each container. The items were seized and brought to the OP along with the apprehended person.
