BOKAJAN, April 4: Continuing its pressure on drug peddlers, police in Karbi Anglong seized 400 grams of heroin and arrested a drug dealer from the Borlengri area under Khatkhati police station in Karbi Anglong on Monday.
As per reports, the Khatkhati police under the leadership of SDPO Bokajan, APS, John Das carried out a raid in the Borlengri area and recovered 33 soap cases containing 400 grams of heroin valued at approximately Rs. 3 crore.
Police arrested 3 persons, including a woman, and seized cash of Rs 3,58,000, jewellery and three vehicles in this connection.
The arrested have been identified as a woman LH Ranirou (45), her husband RN Surender (55) and Pfokho Mao (42). Both Ranirou and Surender are residents of Manipur, while Pfokho Mao is a local resident of Khatkhati.
The seized vehicles include an SUV, AS-01-AT-6020, a Maruti S-Cross, AS-01-DQ-5657 and an auto-rickshaw, NL-07-F-4411. The vehicles are used for smuggling the consignment into Assam.
