KHERONI: Two houses in Rikangmehom, West Karbi Anglong, fell victim to a wild elephant attack late on Tuesday night. Three wild elephants, in search of food, entered the area and broke into the houses belonging to Babu Engti and Sar-im Phangcho.
During the attack, the elephants ripped apart the houses and consumed whatever paddy and rice they found. The vegetables in the houses were also trampled. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.
In response to the situation, the villagers swiftly gathered and used torches to create noise, successfully driving the elephants back into the nearby forests.
