HOJAI, Aug 23: This year, the Kajali Teej took place on Thursday. In Hojai, married women, especially from Maheshwari and Daima families, gathered in the evening to pray for the well-being and longevity of their husbands. Dressed as newlywed brides, they offered prayers to Goddess Parvati and worshipped the neem tree, a key part of the tradition. After fasting from dawn until evening, the women broke their fast after sighting the moon and taking prasadam.
