Kharahat Gaon Panchayat-Khongia Road In Bad Shape

DEMOW, March 19: The road from Kharahat gaon panchayat to Khongia which is a 3-km road is in a poor condition and the contractor had constructed 1 km of the said road in 7 months and halted the work alleged Lalit Tanti, secretary of AASAA, Demow regional committee.

The rest 2 kms of the Kharahat Gaon Panchayat to Khongia Road is yet to be constructed.

According to sources, during the by-election in Thowra constituency 2021, the foundation stone of the Kharahat gaon panchayat to Khongia road was laid. The people of Kharahat, Khongia, Laojan face serious problems while communicating through the Kharahat Gaon Panchayat using the road. Due to the negligence of the concerned authority and contractor engaged in that work the road is in poor condition. Moreover there were allegations that the even on some parts of the newly constructed 1 km of the Kharahat gaon panchayat to Khongia road has been seen broken in some parts.

People residing in that area demanded construction of the Kharahat gaon panchayat to Khongia road at the earliest.
