Khel Maharan 2.0 inaugurated at Jagiroad

JAGIROAD, Dec 14: Assam minister Pijush Hazarika on Friday inaugurated the 14th Khel Maharan, organised by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the state government with the aim of giving a platform to sports talents in rural areas of the state.

The Khel Maharan was organised at Neli Makaria ground in Jagiroad  on 13 and 14 December.

Notably, there are various sports competitions held over the two days of the Khel Maharan.

Several players from 23 numbers of GP under Jagiroad Assembly constituency participated in various sports including boxing, football, volleyball, kabaddi and cycling. 

The program was attended by Morigaon district superintendent of Police Hemant Kumar Das, Jagiroad co-district commissioner Biman Das, additional commissioner Sangeeta Barthakur, Morigaon district sports officer and secretary Chandan Talukdar, district physical education officer Seemanta Baishya and others.
