A pall of gloom prevailed over the entire Margherita region as everyone mourned the death of Abhimanyu Chakraborty.

At the beginning of the program, a one-minute silent prayer was observed, and all present prayed for peace for the departed soul of Abhimanyu Chakraborty.

The event was attended by a large number of people, including members of the Margherita Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha, Margherita Journalists Association, Margherita College Student Union, ABVP Margherita unit, Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma Fans Club, Margherita Navodaya Cultural Association, Margherita Maatri Sangha, Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Parishad Margherita regional committee, women activists Anita Das Mahanta and G Sarojini, as well as noted social workers Bhim Karmakar and Rabindra Nath Dutta. More than 500 people attended the peaceful tribute program.

Bhim Karmakar, speaking at the tribute, stated that this was the first crime of its kind in Margherita’s history, where a mother, Supriya Chakraborty, mercilessly killed her own son on the day of Ashtami Durga Puja. He expressed that words could not adequately convey the tragedy. He prayed that Abhimanyu Chakraborty’s soul may rest in peace in heaven, and in his next life, he may be reborn as the son of a loving mother. Karmakar also urged the Margherita police and the Margherita co-district commissioner to ensure that Supriya Chakraborty receives the capital punishment she deserves under the law.
