Morigaon, July 7: The closure of the surgery cell for women at Morigaon Civil Hospital has left pregnant women and their attendants in distress for nearly five consecutive days. Being the sole hospital in the district with a surgery cell for women, its closure has caused significant inconvenience and confusion among patients and their families. This development has raised concerns among the residents, especially considering the state government’s claims of progress and development.
According to the information received, the surgery cell for women at the hospital has been non-operational since last Monday due to technical issues. As a result, pregnant women who have been admitted to the hospital have been enduring significant hardships. It has been alleged that economically disadvantaged pregnant women have been compelled to seek admission in private hospitals, which has sparked widespread resentment among the affected women and their attendants.
