Morigaon College Launches Initiative to Resolve Assamese Letter-Blending Confusion Among Students

Morigaon, Jan 21: In a radical approach,Morigaon college’s Assamese department , Morigaon District Literary body and IQAC cell of the college have taken an effort to erase letter blending confusion being occured in word formation among students’ .

In conjunction with it, a workshop was held at Morigaon college today.While inaugurating the workshop the president of Asom Xahitya Xabha( AXX) Dr. Basanta Kr. Goswami said that the Assamese language has gradually become neglecting due to acute aggression of English language in preliminary stages.In parallel ,the habits of book reading has been decreasing following impacts of electronic medias.

These bring threaten to the state language. He also added ‘ The students’ must learn the mother language accurately so that they can not get confusion in letter blending further.The workshop was attended by Dr. Praneeta Devi, Professor, Department of Assamese, Guwahati University as a resource person.The president of Asom Xahitya Xabha Dr. Basanta Kr. Goswami inaugurated a book title ‘Miturpisat Kabita'(poem after death ) written by the principal of Morigaon college Dr. Lilakanta Barthakur.

The event was attended by Morigaon District Sahitya Sabha President Dr. Harmuhan Kalita, Secretary Kushal Kumar Bora, former Secretary Dr. Achyut Kumar Das, Assam Sahitya Sabha Central Executive Member Mahendra Nath Hazarika, Vice-Principal of the college Dr. Arunima Sarma ,senior journalist Dalim Phukan, Reena Deka and Rinarani Saikia.
