DIPHU, Jan 27: The National Rock Contest is set to take center stage at the 51st Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) in Taralangso, Diphu.
Organised by ‘No-Tok-Let’, a prominent event hosting group, the contest promises to be an electrifying experience. The last date for registration is February 5, and the grand finale is scheduled for February 18. The winning band will receive a prize money of Rs 4 lakh.
One of the event organisers Risim Rongpi said, “No-Tok-Let was founded in 2010 by musician Late Daniel Ingty and myself as an addition to the Karbi Youth Festival. We have successfully hosted two editions, creating a platform for local talents to shine and represent Karbi Anglong but financial constraints forced us to pause the event.”
Rongpi announced that ‘No-Tok-Let’ is being revived this year, with the National Rock Contest being curated during the 51st Karbi Youth Festival.
“We believe this revival will not only honour the festival’s legacy but also inspire and empower our youth, providing them with an opportunity to connect through music and culture. The revival of ‘No-Tok-Let’ promises to be a momentous highlight to the 51st Karbi Youth Festival, and music enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the event.”
