GUWAHATI, Nov 26: An NCC car rally, which commenced its journey from Shillong on November 6, was successfully flagged-in at the army’s Narangi cantonment in Guwahati on National Cadet Corps Day, November 26. The rally covered a distance of 3,400 km over 20 days, travelling through 44 districts in Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya.
The team, consisting of NCC officers and 76 cadets, travelled in 12 cars and engaged with over 20,000 students from more than 200 schools and 140 colleges along the route. The convoy also participated in various cultural programs, fostering a sense of community and interaction with the local population.
Assam tourism minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, Eastern Army commander Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, and GOC 51 sub-area Major General P S Joshi were present at the flag-in ceremony, marking the successful conclusion of the 20-day journey. (With inputs from PTI)
