Panchakarma Therapy at Margherita Civil Hospital a boon for patients

People from far flung areas benefited by the therapy

MARGHERITA, June 1: Panchakarma Therapy at Margherita civil hospital has given relief to thousands of people becoming a boon for the critical patients who come for treatment from other parts of Assam.

People from Nalbari, Gohpur,Sipajahar Mangaldoi, Sibsagar, Lakhimpur,Teok,Janji, Jorhat, Moran, Golaghat, Kakopather,Borpathar, Naharkatiya, Duliajan, Namrup, Sadiya, Tinsukia district and from our neighbouring state Arunachal Pradesh flock the hospital in times of need.

Dr Sashindra Barman Sub divisional Medical officer (SDMO) and incharge of Panchakarma Therapy of Margherita FRU said that on March 8, 2019 he started panchakarma Therapy at Margherita civil hospital where than Margherita sub divisional officers Preeti Kumari (IAS) and Pabitra Kumar Das, than Margherita civil hospital Deputy Superintendent Dr Kumud Chandra Das, Tinsukia district deputy commissioner Swapneel Paul, Tinsukia District joint health directors G S Gogoi and Jayanta Bhattacharya helped him to launch the Panchakarma Therapy.

More than 700 patients have been cured who have been suffering from various major diseases such as Neurological problem, lumber spondylitis, surgical spondylitis, slip disc, hydronephrocis, small renal calculi, pancreatitis, fatty liver, deep jaundice, deep injury and varicose vein have been cured through Panchakarma Therapy at Margherita civil hospital said Dr Sashindra Barman.

I have requested Assam Government to construct a separate 30 bedded hospital for Panchakarma Therapy at Margherita so that patients who comes far flung areas may get better treatment, said Dr Sashindra Barman.

“Already a group of meeting has been held with the management of North Eastern coalfields Coal India ltd Margherita where they have assured to provide Rs 5 crore funds through CSR scheme,” he added.

When this correspondent talked with the patients who are getting treatment through Panchakarma Therapy at Margherita civil hospital said that in the year 2025 Dr Sashindra Barman’s tenure would end so we request Assam Government for continuation of Barman’s service because of his efficiency and dedication.
