Pijush assesses rehabilitation center; highlights its role in community welfare

GUWAHATI, Aug 13: Assam’s minister of social justice and empowerment, Pijush Hazarika, conducted a thorough assessment of Orsini Care Home, a rehabilitation centre located in Kishan Bazar, Bongaigaon district, on Sunday. During his visit, the minister inspected the centre’s facilities and engaged in insightful discussions with the staff members overseeing its operations. Additionally, he took the opportunity to engage in conversations with individuals undergoing treatment at the facility.

Minister Hazarika took to social media to underscore the critical importance of acknowledging that individuals grappling with drug addiction actively seek out rehabilitation centres like Orsini Care Home to liberate themselves from dependency and embark on a transformative journey towards recovery. He emphasised the vital role played by such rehabilitation facilities in fostering a healthier community by effectively aiding individuals in overcoming their addiction challenges.

In his tweet, Minister Hazarika stated that rehabilitation centres occupy a significant place in society’s framework and pledged his commitment to ensuring their optimal functioning. He highlighted his regular visits to these centres and underscored his hands-on approach to closely monitoring their operations, thereby ensuring strict adherence to the relevant rules and guidelines governing their functioning.
