DEMOW, Nov 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nitai-Panidehing Mandal organised a Jana Sabha in Kokilamari near Demow of Thowra Constituency on Monday, with the presence of state water resources minister Pijush Hazarika.

Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain welcomed the attendees, and Pranab Chetia, secretary of BJP District Committee, anchored the meeting.

During his address, state water resources minister Pijush Hazarika highlighted the government’s efforts in the last two years, providing Rs 34 crore to Thowra Constituency from the Water Resources Department. The foundation stone laid at the event signifies an erosion protection scheme involving Geo Bag protection and Porcupine screens.

Minister Hazarika outlined the developmental works undertaken in Assam under the leadership of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He criticised the Congress Party and APCC president Bhupen Borah. Urging people to cast their votes for the BJP Party, Hazarika expressed confidence in winning 12 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.
