GUWAHATI, July 3: In a significant step towards promoting the holistic development of children in the state, the foundation stone for the Silchang Model Anganwadi Centre in Jagiroad constituency was laid by the Assam water resource minister, Pijush Hazarika, on Monday.
The establishment of these Model Anganwadi Centres aligns with the chief minister’s vision to provide improved education and healthcare facilities to the children of Assam, nurturing their potential from a young age and shaping them into exceptional human resources, Pijush stated.
The Model Anganwadi Centre in Silchang will serve as a benchmark for other similar initiatives across different parts of Assam. These centers will play a pivotal role in offering high-quality early childhood education, healthcare services, and nutrition support to children, ensuring their overall growth and well-being, minister Hazarika added.
Under the leadership of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, concerted efforts are being made to enhance educational opportunities and healthcare provisions for the younger generation. The establishment of Model Anganwadi Centres reflects the government’s commitment to nurturing young minds and preparing them for a brighter future, the minister asserted further.
“Hon’ble Chief Minister @himantabiswa Sir had envisioned enhanced education and healthcare facilities for the children of the state, fostering their holistic development from a tender age, thereby shaping them into exceptional human resources. To realize this vision, concerted efforts are being made to establish Model Anganwadi Centres across different parts of Assam. Today, I laid the foundation stone of the Silchang Model Anganwadi Centre in Jagiroad constituency. Morigaon District Commissioner, eminent social worker Shri Prabin Kumar Bora, Jagiroad Development Authority Chairman Shri Dibyajit Neog, along with departmental officers and other dignitaries, were present on the occasion,” the minister said on Twitter.
The Silchang Model Anganwadi Centre signifies a significant milestone in realizing the chief minister’s vision for the state’s children. It is anticipated that these initiatives will pave the way for an empowered and prosperous Assam, where every child has access to quality education, healthcare, and a nurturing environment.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Morigaon district commissioner, eminent social worker Prabin Kumar Bora, and the chairman of Jagiroad Development Authority, Dibyajit Neog. Several departmental officers and other notable personalities also graced the occasion.
