Preparatory meeting held in Nagaon

NAGAON, Dec 27: A preparatory meeting for the upcoming district level Khel Maharan 2023-24 was convened at the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s Office in Nagaon. Chaired by Narendra Kumar Shah, DC, Nagaon, the meeting outlined the roadmap for organising the Khel Maharan event, scheduled to commence on January 5, 2024, and conclude on January 7, 2024.

In the meeting, additional district commissioner Lakshya Jyoti Das provided insights into the preparations and highlighted that the district-level competitions would encompass various sports categories, including athletics, football, volleyball, kabaddi, and kho-kho. A total of 1728 participants have qualified for the district-level Khel Maharan, comprising 384 athletes for Athletics, 24 football teams, 32 volleyball teams, 32 kabaddi teams, and 16 Kho-Kho teams.

Simultaneously, preparations for the district level of Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram 2023-24 were also discussed in the meeting. Assistant commissioner Jebin Gulnar shared that over 1094 participants would be competing in the district-level Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram 2023-24 in Nagaon.

The meeting saw the active participation of representatives from various sectors, including district police administration, block development officers, district sports officer, district cultural officer, and members from Nagaon Sports Association. The collaborative efforts aim to ensure the success and smooth execution of both Khel Maharan and Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram events in the district.
