Retired teacher passes away

HAFLONG, Feb 21: Jugomaya Singh, a respected senior citizen and retired teacher from Haflong, passed away on Friday at her residence on College Road due to age-related ailments. She was 78 years old.

She was the wife of the late Horen Singh and dedicated her career to education, serving in various institutions such as GNB Assamese LP School and Sarkari Bagan LP School. Beyond teaching, she was actively involved in numerous social organisations, earning love and respect from her community and neighbors.

Singh is survived by her three daughters, two sons, and several grandchildren. Her residence was filled with grieving relatives and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects. Her cremation will take place at Haflong Crematory on the morning of February 22.
