Senior physician Durgeswar Kochari passes away

NAGAON, Nov 25: Senior physician and retired joint director of Health Services, Nagaon, Dr Durgeswar Kochari breathed his last at his Fauzdaripatty residence in the wee hours on Friday due to cardiac arrest.

He was 79.

Dr Kochari was born at Titabor in Jorhat district.

Being a medical graduate, Dr Kochari started his service at Kuthori State Hospital in the district and while rendering his services at various places, he was finally promoted to the post of joint director. He retired from his services as joint director of Health Services, Nagaon in 2004 and also settled at Nagaon Fauzdaripatty.

His demise has cast a pall of gloom at Fauzdaripatty as well as among the employees of the Health department of the district.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives, sources said.
