GUWAHATI, Sept 29: Ramen Deka, vice chairman of the State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA), inaugurated the SITA-sponsored project titled ‘Workshop on Creating Awareness on Career Planning and Development’ at KC Das Commerce College in Guwahati. The project will be implemented by KC Das Commerce College and Needemy LLP, Bengaluru. During the official program, vice chairman Ramen Deka handed over the first instalment of funds for the project, amounting to Rs 8 lakh, with the estimated cost of the project being Rs 20 lakh.
The primary objective of this project is to create awareness among students about career planning and development through workshops and relevant interventions.
In his speech, vice chairman Ramen Deka stressed the importance of such workshops in helping youth discover their strengths, develop essential skills, and choose the right career path. He highlighted that this initiative would make students job-ready, growth-oriented, and valuable contributors to the economy. Vice-Chairman Deka also advised parents not to exert excessive pressure on their children but instead allow them to choose subjects of their interest.
The event was attended by Dr Hrishikesh Baruah, principal of KC Das Commerce College, N Sawarji, a representative of Needymy LLP in Bengaluru, DS Hazari, ARO of SITA, Dipankar Bora, LO of SITA, as well as other officials and students from the college.
