SIVASAGAR, July 28: The Sivasagar District Veterinary Office (DVO) organised a farmer sensitisation meeting on cattle feed and improved varieties of grass plantation at the office premises on Thursday. The event saw the active participation of a large number of farmers.
Dr Amrit Tamuly, the district veterinary officer, warmly welcomed the participants and spoke about the objectives of the meeting. Dr Rajen Sarmah, Dr Chayanika Das, Dr Hemen Gogoi, and Dr Sayed Mehtaz acted as resource persons and presented valuable insights on various aspects of cattle feed production using indigenous techniques and materials. They also emphasised the significance of adopting new varieties of grass plantation to enhance the quality of cattle feed, thereby enabling farmers to increase their earnings.
Javed Jaman, additional deputy commissioner of Sivasagar, presented certificates to the participants and encouraged the farmers to become self-reliant through effective cattle rearing practices. Dr Tamuly announced that the next seminar would be held in Salaguri, continuing the efforts to educate and support farmers in the region.
