Sivasagar prepares for Rongali Bihu with numerous bihu workshops

SIVASAGAR, March 25: Sivasagar Bording Field is agog with Bihu dance and Dhol-badan workshops by various organisations as people here braces up for the Rangali Bihu festivities begining on April 14.

Aakya, the premier Socio- cultural organisation, began its Bihu dance and dhol-badan workshop on Monday which was inaugurated by noted exponent of folk musical instruments Dwijen Gogoi.

Bhaskarjyoti Sharma and Mandeep Barua conducted the Dhol-badan workshop. Barnali Saikia, Satabdi Das and Ranjita Sharma are working as Bihu dance instructors said Raju Das, president and Prabitra Kumar Bora, secretary of the committee formed for the purpose.Altogether,108 participants are taking part in the work shop.

The workshop organized by ‘Rangman’ was inaugurated on Sunday by Prof Prabin Sharma in the presence of large number of people. Krishna Borgohain, Bihu dance exponent,instructed over 80 participants- Pradip Borgohain, secretary Rangman informed on Tuesday.
