BISWANATH CHARIALI, Feb 15: Biswanath district commissioner Munindra Nath Nagatey on Friday inaugurated Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) at Biswanath Chariali district hospital. After inaugurating the modern technologically equipped SNCU, the district commissioner visited and inspected Physiotherapy ward, labour room, general ward and interacted with the patients.
Then he visited the pharmacy and inquired about the expiry dates of the stocked medicines. The district commissioner was accompanied by Dr Jogen Chandra Bay, joint director of health services, Dr Jonali Gogoi, superintendent, Dr Nanren Kutum, Dr Naresh Sahu, officer in-charges of SNCUÂ Â among others.

It is to be mentioned here that SNCU has been a long pending demand of the people of greater Biswanath. Earlier to this, there was no such facility of newborn baby care unit in Biswanath.
