GOSSAIGAON, May 10: The 31st battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) stationed at Matiajuri in Gossaigaon organised a series of engaging and informative programmes for the students of St. Anthony English Medium School to enhance their skills.
The event, which was held at the unit headquarters aimed to acquaint the young minds with the operations of the Central Armed Police Forces, specifically the SSB, and to inspire them to pursue a career in the Central Armed Police Forces.
The programme included a tour of the Unit Campus for the students, Mahila Contingent parade drill, a K9 Dog demonstration and a weapon exhibition designed to provide the students with first-hand experiences of the activities of the SSB.
Sh. Parag, second in command (officiating commandant) while delivering a motivational speech said, “The sole purpose of the programme is to familiarise the students with the activities of the Sashastra Seema Bal and inspire them to serve their nation by joining the Central Armed Police Forces. The youths need to have a sense of pride and awareness about our national security forces.”
The participating students, teachers, and Father Linesh Chalko, principal of St. Anthony’s E.M School expressed their gratitude for the opportunity provided to them to learn more about SSB and the important role that it plays in safeguarding the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan international border.
The programme was also attended by Sh. L N Singh, deputy commandant, Sh. Pranava Shukla, deputy commandant and Sh. Ranjeet Kumar, assistant commandant (Comm.).
