The campus came alive with mesmerizing performances by students, who showcased traditional dances such as Husori, Jeng Bihu, and Jhumur, captivating the audience with their energy and precision. The infectious beats of the dhol and taal echoed across the school grounds, creating an electrifying festive atmosphere that left attendees spellbound.

In the lead-up to the celebration, the school organized a seven-day cultural workshop, where students were trained in traditional music and dance under the guidance of dedicated teachers Parthana Saikia Hazarika, Nisha Singh, and Ruby Changmai Handique. The culmination of the workshop was today’s spectacular showcase—testament to the school’s commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Assam.

“The Open Bihu Celebration was a resounding success,” said Sushil Kalita, Proprietor of St. James School. “Our students performed with passion and pride, and the support from parents and the community was overwhelming. Events like these reinforce our mission to foster cultural pride alongside academic excellence.”

Kalita also highlighted the invaluable contributions of the teachers, headmaster, assistant headmaster, and school staff in the overall growth and development of the institution.
