TEZPUR, Sept 28: The Regional Office, Itanagar, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, government of India, organised the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign in Tezpur on Thursday morning to mark Swachhata Pakhwada. The event was conducted in collaboration with the NGO ‘Future of Assam’, and Subhash Chandra, regional officer, Itanagar, Ministry of Roads Transport & Highways, government of India, attended the program as the guest of honour.
The awareness campaign started from Triveni Chowk and ended at Ganesh Ghat, passing through Kekurapool Traffic Point and the ASTC Bus Stand. During the campaign, the NGO team conducted a Street Play at Kekurapool traffic point and Ganesh Ghat, and distributed snacks, sweets, and tea at Ganesh Ghat.
Approximately 250 participants pledged to practice cleanliness in their daily activities, such as disposing of garbage in dustbins and maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings. Dustbins were also installed at locations including Pantaloon (Near KRC Hotel), ASTC Bus Stand, and Ganesh Ghat.
