NAGAON, Dec 28: Lumding Police, under the leadership of superintendent of police Sourabh Gupta, conducted a surprise raid at a rented house near Lumding Railway Station based on confidential information. The police seized 49 stolen smartphones during the operation and arrested two individuals from Jharkhand.
The arrested thieves are identified as Shubham Kumar Mahato and Sanu Kumar Nunia, both hailing from Jharkhand. They had recently rented a house near Lumding Railway Station. The stolen smartphones, numbering 49, were reportedly taken from passengers on various trains.
Sources suggest that the Lumding Police acted on specific intelligence, and a case has been registered in connection with the thefts. Further investigations are underway to unravel additional details related to the stolen property and the individuals involved.
