TEZPUR, Nov 2: Tezpur University’s academic and research excellence in multiple domains, including Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing, Energy, Polymers, Otorhinolaryngology, and Optoelectronics & Photonics, has garnered global recognition as several faculty members have been included in Elsevier’s esteemed lists of top 2% scientists worldwide.

The recognized faculty members in their respective fields are Prof. Dhruba K Bhattacharyya, Prof. Debendra Chandra Baruah, Dr. Shyamal Kumar Das, Prof. Niranjan Karak, Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, and Prof. Partha Pratim Sahu.

Elsevier, a globally renowned Publishing & Information Analytics Company, published the lists in 2022 and 2023 through an independent study. These compilations are based on a publicly available database of highly cited scientists, featuring standardized data on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in various authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score). The scientists are categorized into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields as per the standard Science-Metrix classification.

Extending congratulations to the esteemed faculty members, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, expressed the institution’s pride in hosting scholars and researchers who have significantly contributed to the University’s advancement. He expressed hope that this recognition would inspire others to strive for excellence in their pursuit of knowledge.
