BOKAJAN, June 24: In a significant breakthrough, a coordinated anti-narcotic operation conducted by SDPO Bokajan, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Khatkhati police station, and CRPF personnel resulted in the apprehension of two individuals in the Janakpukhuri area under Khatkhati police station. The operation, which took place on Saturday at approximately 1:50 pm, successfully intercepted the duo as they were walking with a bag in their possession.
Upon thorough examination of the bag, the authorities discovered 87 soap cases containing a substance suspected to be heroin, weighing approximately 1.132 kg. Additionally, a sum of Rs 37,000 in cash was also seized during the search.
The two individuals apprehended in connection with the case have been identified as L Pavei Doni, aged 31, son of S Louno from Liyai Khunou village under Tadubi police station, district Senapati, Manipur, and H Thou, aged 52, son of Haba from Zhaimai village under Tadubi police station, district Senapati, Manipur. The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the superintendent of police (SP), Karbi Anglong.
This successful raid signifies a major blow to the illegal drug trade in the region, demonstrating the commitment and collaborative efforts of the law enforcement agencies involved. The detained individuals will be subjected to further investigation to ascertain their involvement in the illegal drug trafficking network.
