MUMBAI, March 13: ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Indian Telugu-language epic action drama film ‘RRR’ has won the Oscar for Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards. Following the Oscar musical victory, Indian music composer MM Keeravaani has brought pride and the entire world’s attention straight to India. Keeravaani composed the music of the joyfully-energizing anthem “Naatu Naatu” and Chandrabose wrote the lyrics.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone took over the stage as a presenter where she delivered her speech over the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ with pride which has won the hearts of everyone out there.
“Naatu Naatu” had already received a lot of attention prior to conquering the award. It has now more than 122 million YouTube views and sparked several reels on Instagram where individuals endeavor to make videos with it.
In the latest interview, Keeravaani expressed happiness by saying that he felt compelled to have the Oscars’ platform to promote Indian artists. He stated that it is significant as more and more music and talented artists from India can have an opportunity to get this kind of recognition so that the world embraces India’s music more than ever before.
India won another Oscar for 2023 as ‘The Elephant Whisperer’ secures an award for Best Documentary Short Film. The film’s director Kartiki Gonsalves and producer Guneet Monga went up on stage to pick the golden statue. The documentary film is now available on Netflix. ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ depicts an unbreakable and irreplaceable bond between two abandoned elephants and their caretakers.
Apart from the English language, Spanish, Greek, Hindi, and Telugu are among the non-English languages whose songs have achieved success at the Oscars so far.
