Bhopal, Jan 16: A Namibian cheetah was found dead in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park on Tuesday. The park authorities reported the death at around 3:17 pm.
Earlier in the day, at around 11 am, a tracking team noticed signs of incoordination and a staggering gait in the cheetah, leading to immediate medical intervention.
The deceased cheetah, named ‘Shaurya’, failed to respond to CPR after being revived from tranquilization. The cause of death will be confirmed after a post-mortem. On January 3, the park had welcomed three new cheetah cubs, born to ‘Aasha’.
The birth was hailed as a success for Project Cheetah, an initiative endorsed by PM Narendra Modi to restore ecological balance.
