Covid-19 active cases in Manipur further drop to 5

IMPHAL, Nov 8 (NNN): Manipur till Monday recorded further decline in the Covid-19 active caseload after three persons were discharged against a fresh case reported in the last 24 hours.

The active cases declined to five, said the latest bulletin of the State Health department.

The State reported one fresh case of Covid-19 upon testing of 143 samples in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate of the day was 0.7%.

The single case reported in Imphal West district took the overall infection count of the pandemic in the State to 1,39,891 even as the fatality count remained at 2,149 with no death link to the pandemic in the last 24 hours.

The State has not been reporting death due to Covid-19 since October 2 last, the day one death was reported.

The recovery count, on the other hand, rose to 1,37,734 after adding the latest three recoveries.

In the ongoing vaccination drive against Covid-19, only 154 doses of the vaccine were administered on Sunday.

In the State, 32,57,063 doses of the vaccine including 16,47,671 first dose and 13,34,436 second doses have been administered so far. As many as 2,74,956 people have also received the precautionary dose of the vaccine till date, the bulletin said.
