Manipur’s Number Of Covid-19 Active Case Surges To 25

IMPHAL, Sept 15: The number of Covid-19 active cases in Manipur has surged to 25 as only two patients were discharged upon recovery against four fresh cases reported recently.

The active case was declined to 23 on Monday.

Four fresh cases were reported in the State in the last 24 hours and no death linked to the disease on Tuesday, the latest bulletin on Covid-19 of the State Health department said.

The fresh cases took the overall infection count of the State to 1,39,768 while the fatality toll remained unchanged at 2,148.

Two patients were discharged upon recovery on the day and it took the overall recovery count of the State to 1,37,595. The recovery rate stood at 98.45%.

The State has 25 active cases at present, the bulletin said.

As per the latest status update of the State IDSP, the fresh cases were detected upon testing of 346 samples in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate of the day is 1.0%.

As many as 16,52,357 samples have been tested for the virus in the State so far, it added.

Meanwhile, with 2,188 more people vaccinated on Monday, the total doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered in the State so far touched 32,07,255.

Out of 16,37,587 people who took the first dose of the vaccine, 13,14,590 of them had jabbed with the second dose and 2,55,078 of them received the precautionary dose so far.

The first dose has so far covered 62.38% of the population eligible for the vaccine while the second dose covered 54.59%, it added. (NNN)
