The IMD said heavy rain is also likely in parts of the state on Thursday, and issued a ‘yellow alert’.

An orange alert signifies the need for preparedness and heightened caution due to the possibility of disruptive weather, including landslides, flash floods, and road blockages in vulnerable areas.

“People have been advised to remain alert and avoid travel during periods of intense rainfall,” officials said. (PTI)
