IMPHAL, Sept 23: No new case of Covid-19 reported in Manipur on Wednesday, the second time since the fourth wave of the pandemic hit the State in the first week of July.
After the fourth wave hit in the first week of July, the State had recorded no case on September 10 last.
The active cases also declined to 24 after four patients were discharged upon recovery on the day.
No fresh infection on Wednesday, said the latest bulletin of the State Health department while informing that 149 samples were tested for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The infection tally stood at 1,39,796 while the recovery tally rose to 1,37,624 after adding the four recoveries.
The death toll remained unchanged at 2,148 as no fatality due to the disease reported on the day.
Meanwhile, the doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered in the State so far touched 32,23,238 with 4,063 more people being vaccinated on Tuesday.
The total included 16,41,174 first dose and 13,21,129 second dose as the number of people who got the precautionary dose of the vaccine increased to 2,60,935, the bulletin said. (NNN)
