Corruption and good governance in India

Corruption means corrupt conduct. That means bad or spoiled and behaviour means conduct. That is the literal meaning of corruption is that conduct which is unethical and unfair in any way. When a person goes against the accepted rules of the system and starts misbehaving to fulfill his selfishness then that person is called corrupt. Today India is called a golden bird. When a person goes against the accepted rules of the system and starts misbehaving to fulfill his selfishness then that person is called corrupt. Today India is called a golden bird. Corruption is spreading its roots in the country. Today there are many people in India who are corrupt. Is today is the center of corruption in the whole world. It is ranked 94th in the matter many of corruption. There are catars like bribery, black marketing, life deliberately increasing prices, taking money for work. Bringing cheap goods and selling expensive ones etc. There are many reasons for corruption. Main corruption includes bribery, election rigging, blackmailing, tax evasion, false testimony, false case, cheating in examinations, wrong evaluation of candidates, hafta extortion, forced donation, biased by judges, taking money to vote, distributing money and liquor etc, printing reports by taking money, giving cash to get one’s work done, all this is corruption.

Governance is the cycle and organizations by which authority in a country is worked out: (i) the cycle by which governments are elected, considered responsible, checked, and supplanted; (ii) the limit of governments to oversee assets productively and to define, actualize, and implement sound approaches and guidelines; and, (iii) the regard for the establishments that administer monetary and social cooperation’s among them. Reasons for corruption:

  • Disatisfaction: When someone suffers due to lack, he is forced to behave corruptly. A person suffering from feelings of inferiority and jealousy is forced to adopt corruption. Besides bribery, nepotism etc. also gives rise to corruption.
  • Growing corruption in India: Corruption it’s like a disease. Today corruption is spreading rapidly in India. If it is not stopped in time it will engulf the entire country. The impact of corruption is extremely widespread. No area of life is free from its influence. If we talk about this year only, there are many such examples which show the increasing impact of corruption.
  • Measures to stop corruption: It is a contagious disease it’s like a disease. Strict penal system should be made to stop corruption spreading at various levels in the society. International Anti Corruption day is celebrated on 9 December to spread awareness among people against corruption across the world. The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution on 31st October 2003 declaring it as International Anti Corruption day. The participation of the entire nation and the world in this night against corruption events because today corruption is not a problem of anyone country but of the entire world. At present corruption has become a canker and is hollowing out the society. People are promoting unrighteousness in the name of religion. Today culprits and criminals are roaming freely under the influence of money. Demonstration of money power, looting smuggling etc. have become common.

Corruption is having a widespread impact on our society and nation. Corruption is not only a curse for our personal lives but it also hinders the development of the nation. Corruption has been going on in our country not from today but for many centuries and it is increasing day by day due to which the condition of our country is getting worse. Misuse of power by a person holding a particular position is called corruption. Such people take advantage of their position and include in black marketing, embezzlement bribery etc. Due to which every section of our country is affected by corruption. Due to this the economic progress of our country also gets harmed. Corruption is like termites which are slowly hollowing out our country. Today in our country every government office, non- government office and politics is full of corruption due to which is bothering the common man immensely, we will soon have to raise our voice against this and reduce it otherwise our entire nation will fall victim to corruption.

Lokpal law should be immediately enacted in every state, Union Territory and Centre which is alike city answerable to the president. Even the PM should be included in his scope of work.  Before working in every field an oath should be administered to the person so that he always remembers this oath. The election system should be made easier and less expensive so that people associate with social service and public welfare can also participate in the election. The public should also be involved in administrative matters. Lokpal should work independently for administrative work. It is necessary to change the mindset of people through law and government. The right salary should be increased at the right time.

Whenever any government tender or government requirement comes out big leaders and often people give that job or tender to their relatives without any qualifications due to which the economy of our country goes into the hands of people who have no knowledge about it. The government should bring rules and make strict laws on this and nepotism.

Representatives due to which they have to struggle with problems like bribery and corruption. Our Election Commission should not allow corrupt leaders to contest elections. But due to laxity of rules, corrupt leaders also contest elections. We have to develop the habit of protesting against anything wrong. Unless we protest corruption will continue to spread. We have to report every fraud to the anti corruption department because firstly he commits bribery and then his greed increases and he starts carrying out big scams. We have to be conscious of our rights that if there is more than half corruption then we will lose our rights. Today despite having almost all types of IT companies, big offices, good economy India is far behind in the race of development. The biggest reason for this is corruption. Be it any person in the society, government employee or a political leader be it the field of education, corruption has made its home everywhere.

Today corruption has increased in India to such an extent that in some places work cannot be done without corruption. Our national character seems to be tarnishing which is nothing less than throwing mud at our country. Our moral standards have fallen so much that we don’t think about other people at all. Our country was known for truth, non violence, hard work, modesty and cultural values but today all these things are not seen in 21st century India. Due to which our country is losing its original image somewhere. If we went to root out corruption then politician government machinery and public will have to fight against it together only then we can save our country from this demon of corruption.
