Women Commission meeting held in Dima Hasao

HAFLONG, March 6: A meeting with members of the state level Women Commission was held in the conference hall of the circuit house in Haflong in Dima Hasao district on Wednesday.

Distrioct, sub-divisional and block level members of the Women Commission and other stack holders participated in the meeting during which various issues regarding women were discussed.

During the course of the meeting several issues on women pertaining to the district were made. Members of the commission assured that regular monitoring and awareness campaigns will be held throughout the district in order to make the women more aware about their rights social and economic values etc.

Members of the State Women Commission, Mamoni Bora and Nang Lucky Gogoi then visited various spots like One Stop point, Rani Gaidinlu Chatravas Boro Haflong and Haflong Sub-Jail, where they took stock of the female inmates and expressed their view on their well being. They also expressed their willingness to take up the problems faced by the women folk with chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The meeting was attended by Dima Hasao district commissioner Simanta Kumar Das, superintendent of Police, Dima Hasao Mayank Kumar and other officials.
