Taekwondo Champions From Dima Hasao Accorded Warm Welcome

HAFLONG, June 5: The three champions from Dima Hasao in the recently held India Cup Open Taekwondo Championship were accorded a warm welcome as they reached their hometown Haflong on Sunday.

Benla Kemprai, Nathan M Darnei and Pollabi Handique participated in the recently organized Taekwondo Championship which was held at Goa from May 31 to June 2.

The District Sports Officer Zagir Khan along with Physical Instructor of Sports & Youth Welfare Department, Haflong, students’ organizations and parents of the champions felicitated and congratulated them for bringing laurels to the hills district of Dima Hasao.

Benla Kemprai won two Gold & one Bronze, Nathan M.Darnei achieved one Gold and Pollabi Handique won one Gold & one Silver in the campionship. It is to be noted that all three of them are being trained by coach Anuj Kumar Hagjer and manager Abijit Maibangsa who also were highly praised and congratulated by the people.

CEM, North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa congratulating the three winners encouraged them to continue their hardwork and wished them for a bright future.
