DEMOW, Oct 22: The Demow Press Club will host Sudhakantha Divas, commemorating Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika, at the Demow Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Building (Demow Public Hall) on November 4 and 5, 2024. The two-day event will feature various activities, beginning with the third annual All Assam Bhupendra Sangeet Competition on November 4, which will be held in two categories, with cash prizes awarded in both.
On November 5, the program will commence with a drawing competition in the afternoon, followed by a tribute ceremony in the evening, where an earthen lamp will be lit in front of Dr Bhupen Hazarika’s portrait. The Demow Press Club will also screen a documentary on the life of Dr Hazarika, followed by a cultural program and prize distribution ceremony.
