Dokmoka police seize 75 cartons of illicit liquor

HOWRAGHAT, Nov 13: Seventy-five cartons of Meghalaya-made foreign liquor were seized from a truck (bearing Regd No NL 07A-A2397) traveling from Meghalaya to Imphal at the Dokmoka checkpoint by Dokmoka police personnel around 1:30 pm on Wednesday in Karbi Anglong district. The illegal cartons of foreign liquor were concealed inside fertiliser sacks. The truck driver, Bikram Roy, and his associate, Michlai, had cleverly hidden the consignment in the sacks, according to police. The liquor was seized during a routine check conducted by the Dokmoka police, led by officer-in-charge of Dokmoka Police Station Ritupal Senchwa.
