BALIJAN, Aug 14: A Financial Inclusion Camp was conducted at Kokila Gram Panchayat under Balijan Block in Papumpare district on Thursday as part of the ongoing three-month nationwide saturation campaign aimed at promoting financial empowerment and extending the reach of government-backed banking and social security schemes to every eligible citizen.
According to an official statement, the camp was organised in alignment with the nationwide Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign, which is being implemented from July 1 to September 30, 2025, to achieve full coverage across all gram panchayats in Arunachal Pradesh.
The event was attended by General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Itanagar, Abhijit Majumdar; Lead District Manager (LDM) of State Bank of India (SBI); Branch Manager of Canara Bank; officials from various banks; office bearers of Moneywise CRISIL Foundation of Balijan Block; and the Gram Pradhan and members of Kokila Gram Panchayat.
Villagers from Kokila GP and nearby villages also participated in large numbers.
Addressing the gathering, RBI General Manager Abhijit Majumdar underscored the importance of timely re-KYC of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) accounts and other bank accounts, along with wider enrolment in social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
He emphasised that these schemes play a vital role in providing financial security to individuals, particularly those in rural areas.
Speakers from SBI and Canara Bank also addressed the participants, clearing doubts and providing detailed explanations of the various schemes available.
Brochures in colour containing scheme details, along with enrolment forms, were distributed among the villagers.
During the camp, 25 beneficiaries were enrolled under PMSBY, 20 beneficiaries under PMJJBY, and 23 Know Your Customer (KYC) updates were completed.
The organisers stated that these on-the-spot services are a key feature of the ongoing saturation campaign, aimed at ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out of the formal financial system.
Officials expressed hope that the momentum created by such camps would strengthen financial literacy, improve access to banking services, and enhance the uptake of social security programmes in rural Arunachal Pradesh.
