KEYI PANYOR, Aug 9: A Financial Inclusion Camp was organised at Chulyu Gram Panchayat in Keyi Panyor district on Friday with the objective of expanding access to banking services and government-backed financial schemes among the rural population.
According to an official statement, the event formed part of the ongoing three-month nationwide saturation campaign for financial inclusion, initiated by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
Running from July 1 to September 30, 2025, the campaign seeks to achieve complete coverage across all Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies, ensuring that every eligible citizen is able to benefit from various welfare and security schemes.
The camp at Chulyu saw the participation of senior banking and institutional representatives, including the General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Itanagar, the Lead District Manager of State Bank of India (SBI), the District Development Manager of NABARD for Lower Subansiri district, and branch managers from SBI Yazali, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, and Axis Bank Ziro.
Also present were officials from the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission and the Moneywise CRISIL Foundation for Lower Subansiri district.
The event witnessed active involvement from residents of Chulyu and nearby villages. Beneficiaries were enrolled in key social security schemes, with 15 people signing up for the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and nine for the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY).
Additionally, 23 Know Your Customer (KYC) updates were completed on the spot.
Organisers said the camp served not only to provide access to enrolment services but also to spread awareness about the benefits of financial planning, insurance coverage, and secure banking practices.
They emphasised that the collaborative effort between banks, government agencies, and the local community was instrumental in promoting financial literacy and inclusion.
The statement described the initiative as a step towards empowering rural households, enhancing economic resilience, and enabling citizens to take advantage of schemes designed to provide social security and financial stability.
