2 Bangladeshi nationals apprehended by GRP Assam in New Bongaigaon amid polls in state

Bongaigaon, April 26: On Friday, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in New Bongaigaon station of Assam apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals, according to reports.

The individuals have been identified as Sujan Babu Das and Mohammad Junaid Ahmed. They were reportedly caught on the Brahmaputra Mail, en route to Lower Assam.

Sources indicate that the duo had unlawfully entered India via Dawki from Bangladesh’s Jaintapur and were heading to Delhi from Guwahati at the time of their capture.

The Bangladeshi nationals have reportedly confessed to involvement of brokers in facilitating their illegal border crossing, as per sources.
